The Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione at the Roman Forum has been a place of prayer since 1470. From 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. the church is open to foster moments of prayer. The atmosphere inside the church is filled with Gregorian chant, which supports prayer and meditation.
The Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione at the Roman Forum is the home of Saint Leopold Mandić in Rome. The saint was proclaimed patron of cancer patients on 11 February 2020.
On the Altar of the Stigmata of Saint Francis is kept the “ex corpore” relic of the holy confessor, which came here from his Sanctuary in Padua on 8 March 2020.

The Relic
“Ex corpore” relic of Saint Leopold Mandić, patron saint of cancer patients, kept in the Chapel of the Stigmata of Saint Francis in the Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione at the Roman Forum. The relic was brought on March 7, 2020, from the Sanctuary of Saint Leopold Mandić in Padua.
Pause for a moment before Saint Leopold Mandić and implore his intercession before the Most Holy Trinity for all the sick in this world.
